Alternative Weather Plan and/or Loss of Power School Closure

School will not open for the day if weather conditions do not allow the buses to travel safely or if PG&E anticipates a lengthy power outage. Families are advised to listen for public announcements on radio station KFBK, 1530 AM on your dial, and television channels 3, 10 and 13 between 6:00 and 8:00 AM. If the staff has access to the district’s automated telephone dialing system, you will receive a recorded message about school closures.

Should it BEGIN SNOWING WHILE SCHOOL IS IN SESSION, all students will be held at school until picked up by a parent/guardian or designee.  Buses will not be dispatched. Should the SCHOOL LOSE POWER WHILE  IN SESSION, all students will remain at school and will be dismissed at the regular time.  Buses will be dispatched and travel their regular routes.

In the event of a site evacuation, or Health Department ordered school closure, parents will be contacted by phone through the district’s automated telephone dialing system with information about the pick-up location.

Online Transportation Payment

Click on the PaySchools logo above to make online payments

The district continues to offer the convenience of making payments for  bus fees through the same online payment processing system as the one used for cafeteria payments - PaySchools.  Through this system, parents can access PaySchools to pay for bus fees online.  You may pay by e-check, MasterCard, Visa or Discover and, new this year, PayPal.  The parent will immediately receive an e-mail receipt confirming the purchase.  **How It Works**

Dangerzone.jpg

The DANGER ZONE around the school bus is the immediate 12 foot vicinity on each side of the bus and the back of the bus.  These are the blind spots for the driver and the most dangerous for a student.  At no time shall a student stand or loiter before or after exiting the bus in this vicinity.  After exciting the student must walk away from the immediate vicinity of the vehicle.  Flashing lights indicate that the bus has stopped and the children are getting on or off.  Motorists must stop their cars and wait until the red lights stop flashing, the extended stop sign is withdrawn, and the bus begins moving before they can start driving again.
